Volume 4 Chapter 10: The One Who Saw Everything
“In every corner of the room where truths were hidden… someone was always watching.”
– Kamini Aarora
The room had returned to silence, but the kind of silence that screamed with unsaid things. Kamini’s footsteps had echoed down the hallway, fading like a whispered confession. Ruhaan stood still, back pressed against the cold glass of the conference room, fists clenched at his sides. The paper she had slipped into his hand was now crumpled slightly between his fingers. But he hadn’t opened it yet.
He didn’t need to.
He knew whatever was inside would hurt. But not opening it hurt worse.
His breath was shaky when he finally unfolded the page. It was a
short note. Five lines. Five truths. And a sixth one that wasn’t written—only understood.
“I lied when I said it didn’t mean anythi
ng.
I lied when I said I could forget.
I lied when I said I wasn't scared of him.
I lied when I said I was in control.
And I lied…
when I told you I wouldn’t come back.”
Ruhaan closed his eyes. His heartbeat was thunderous, his veins pounding with betrayal, longing, rage, and something softer that refused to die. He traced the last line with his thumb.
She would come back. He knew it. But what would she be when she did?
Elsewhere in the building...
Viraj Kapoor leaned back in the leather chair of his private surveillance chamber—an off-the-grid room hidden behind a false panel near the CEO suite. In front of him were nine large screens. Each fed from cameras he had discreetly installed across the boardroom floor—hallways, lifts, secret elevators, and especially the conference room.He had watched everything.
Kamini’s outburst. Her tears. Her confession. Her walkout. The way Ruhaan didn’t chase her.
He swirled the whiskey in his crystal glass, a slow, almost bored gesture, but his eyes were wild—obsessed. Not with lust. Not with love. But with possession.
“You're finally breaking,” he murmured to the screen, zooming into Kamini’s face as she had slipped the paper into Ruhaan’s hand.
“And when you do... I’ll be the one to put you back together.”
He took a slow sip.
Then pressed a button.
A secret recording from the vault began t o play. One from three weeks ago. One that even Kamini didn’t know existed.
[Three weeks ago – Secret Recording Vault – 2:14 AM]
Kamini: "You promised this wouldn't touch Ruhaan."
Viraj: "I promised a lot of things, Kamini. None of them involved letting a junior boy dethrone me."
Kamini: "You think this is about the company? About shares?!"
Viraj: (voice cold) "Everything is about power, Kamini. Even love. Especially love."
Back to Present
Viraj saved the clip with a new label:
CONFESSION_2AM_REAL_FINAL_FINAL.mp4
He smiled.
Then pulled out a white envelope from his drawer—the kind that had ruined lives before. On the front was written in his sharp calligraphic hand:TO: The Board of Directors
Subject: Stakeholder Misconduct & Emotional Collusion
His finger hovered above the send button on the inter-company network.
He didn’t press it.
Not yet.
Meanwhile, on the rooftop…
Kamini stood barefoot on the gravel tiles, her heels dangling from her fingers, the moonlight brushing against her cheeks. Her lipstick was smudged, not from kisses—but from words she had spoken too hard.
She dialed a number she never thought she’d call again.
Unknown Voice: “So... it’s time?”
Kamini: (softly) “Yes. Activate the clause. I’m ready to take the chair.”
Somewhere in the city – An exclusive spa lounge
A woman was watching a silent news feed that flashed Kamini’s name on the business ticker.
A notification blinked on her screen:
“Kamini Aarora – Emergency Stakeholder Clause Request – Verified and Timestamped.”
She smirked and whispered:
“Let the hunt begin. Velvet Chains are meant to be broken… by golden hands.”
To be continued…
