Volume 3 · Chapter 8 – Kamini Diaries

"Some nights don't ask for permission… they just unfold. And when they do, even the stars stop watching."
— Kamini Aarora πŸ’‹

The cityscape stretched like a glittering quilt of secrets beneath them. Rooftop breeze tangled her hair, the night warm with tension that no words dared disturb. Kamini leaned back on the steel railing, her silhouette sharp against the moon’s silver hush.

Ruhaan stood before her — still, restrained, but smouldering. He hadn’t touched her yet, not since the office garden. But his eyes? They burned.

“I know what I said last night,” she murmured, voice edged with challenge. “But things change... when the sky starts listening.”

Ruhaan stepped forward. “Then let’s give the sky something to remember.”

His fingers grazed her wrist. She didn’t flinch. Didn’t pull away. But she didn’t pull him closer either.

“What are we doing?” she asked, breath a mist of vulnerability.

“Whatever you allow me to.”

Her laughter was soft, broken. She turned and walked toward the edge — not to jump, but to fly, perhaps — then stopped.

“If I let you… you won’t survive me.”

“Maybe I’m not meant to survive you,” Ruhaan whispered, “Maybe I’m meant to burn in you.”

The wind trembled.

His hand found her lower back. Her breath hitched. She turned, eyes ablaze.

And this time, they didn’t ask for permission.

Their kiss wasn’t gentle. It was a storm. Mouths colliding like two truths clashing beneath a sky too fragile to hold their heat. The rooftop became a shrine to their surrender — stars above, fire below.

Clothes didn’t scatter; they dissolved — layer by layer of every power play, every guarded glance. There, in the open air, they hid nothing. The city could watch — or not. It didn’t matter.

They were gods tonight. Wrathful, sensual, raw gods.

And just when the silence returned,
when the city’s lights blurred behind the sheen of their sweat,
she looked into his storm-soaked eyes and whispered —

“This is your last secret night, Ruhaan.
After this... not even the stars will scare you.
Because now they belong to us.”
