Volume 4 Chapter 3π₯ PART 1: The Breach Begins π₯
“Not every story begins with love.
Some begin with power... and end with surrender.”
The Breach in the Boardroom
The office lights flickered — just once — as if the building itself took a breath and held it in.
On the 27th floor, a large conference room stood deserted.
But not empty.
Kamini’s presence lingered, even in her absence — her perfume faint in the air, her lipstick’s soft imprint still on a disposable coffee lid near the speakerphone.
Ruhaan entered slowly.
He wasn't there for a meeting.
He was there for evidence. Or closure. Or something between the two — something messier.
The CCTV footage from earlier that day still looped in his mind:
Kamini laughing. Kamini brushing her fingers on Viraj’s wrist. Kamini whispering.
Whispers were dangerous. Kamini’s whispers… fatal.
He looked around. No one.
The glass walls shimmered in the moonlight. Behind him, the skyline of the city blinked — a thousand windows lit up like watching eyes.
Inside, he wasn’t watching. He was searching.
There, a closed black file lay. No label. No initials. Just matte leather and quiet authority.
He opened it.
Inside: photographs.
Ayaan.
Ritika.
Him.
Kamini had files on people. Stories. Motives. Weaknesses.
And on the last page — Viraj Kapoor.
A man not new to this office.
But new to her bed? Or to her plan?
He didn’t know yet.
He knew only one thing:
Kamini had changed.
