Volume 4 Chapter 3 πŸŒ’ PART 3: Entry Without Permission

“Not every story begins with love.
Some begin with power... and end with surrender.”

He walked around the back — through the fire exit corridor, across the pantry, and into the hidden side-entry from the archives.

He knew the layout better than the architect.
This office was his theatre once.

Now he was sneaking in like an intruder.

Kamini didn’t flinch as he entered.

She was sipping coffee, back still turned, red file open on her glass table.

“You always liked breaking the rules,” she said calmly.

Ruhaan shut the door behind him.
No guards. No interns. Just them and the air between them that smelled like jasmine and betrayal.

“I thought we burned that file,” he said.

She turned slowly.
Eyes lined. Lipstick still absent. But the fire... the fire was still there.

“I archived it,” she said. “Burning is for people who forget. I... never forget.”

He stepped closer.

“Then why are you acting like I never existed?”

She closed the file and placed her palm on it.

“Because you acted like I was replaceable.”

Ruhaan swallowed. “I was scared, Kamini. You were too much.”

“I am too much,” she whispered. “And yet... you couldn’t stay away, could you?”

Their faces were now inches apart.

His hand brushed the file.
Her fingers brushed his wrist.

And just like that —
Her silence broke.
His defenses shattered.

Their kiss wasn’t soft.
It was a collision.
Of months unsaid. Of boardroom glances. Of elevator silences.

Of the red file still open beside them
