๐ผ Chapter 6: Kamini’s Ground Rules
Part 2 – The Contract
– July 29, 2025
“Power isn't always loud, Ruhaan. Sometimes… it's in the silence between breaths.”
— Kamini Aarora
The conference room was dimly lit, except for the soft glow of the city lights pouring through the glass. The table between them reflected not just their figures, but the tension simmering beneath their eyes.
Kamini stood tall, hands pressed flat against the glass table. Her gaze — steady, unwavering. Ruhaan stood across, more still than a statue, his breath slower than usual, his heart faster than ever.
“Close the door,” she said.
He obeyed — not out of submission, but curiosity. Reverence. The moment clicked into place like a scene waiting too long to happen.
Kamini turned, circled the edge of the table, her fingers lightly grazing its corners. Deliberate. Calculated. Soft. Sharp.
“So… you’re a stakeholder,” she murmured, finally breaking the silence.
“And I’m your intern now.”
Ruhaan opened his mouth, but she raised a finger.
“Let me speak first.”
She walked toward him slowly, every step echoing the paradox of power she carried — sensual and sovereign. Her fingers reached for his tie, not to pull, not to push, but to hold — firm and steady at the knot near his collarbone.
Her face was close now. Her lips parted just enough to let the breath whisper out.
“Last night… was not a mistake, Ruhaan. But don’t ever mistake it for an accident either.”
He blinked, still unsure if this was dominance or devotion.
“You gave me your truth. And now, I will give you mine.”
She paused, as if weighing every syllable like a signature on a confidential deal.
“If we are to go further, I need rules. Not boundaries. Rules. There’s a difference.”
Her voice was warm now, the edge replaced with something deeper — trust wrapped in steel.
“One: You are still my intern in daylight. You will obey orders, and I will not favor you.”
“Two: After hours… you are mine. Not in body, but in spirit. That means no secrets, no masks.”
“Three: If we ever fall out of love, we must promise never to fall into lies.”
She finally let go of his tie. Her fingers left a heat there he would remember all his life.
Kamini turned, walked back toward the head of the table and stood still, not as a boss, not as a lover, but as a woman who had laid down the law of her heart.
“This is not seduction, Ruhaan. This is a contract.”
“Do you accept it?”
The silence returned.
But this time, it bowed to her.
